This is an exciting development position with the Auto/Industrial Business Unit in Canesta, reporting to the Business Unit Manager. The group develops image and data analysis algorithms, camera test and characterization software tools for our highly integrated and high performance breakthrough 3D Time of Flight image sensor chips and camera technology. The position involves algorithm design and testing, development of analysis and characterization tools in MATLAB, with direction from our senior Algorithm & Characterization Development staff members.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
- Fundamentals of C and C++ software development
- Knowledge of MATLAB for data analysis, image processing and model building
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, data processing, numerical techniques
- Use of software development tools for debugging PC-based applications
- Must have strong communication skills, good organization and skilled in writing quality engineering documentation.
Additional Desired Experience
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent or a Bachelors degree with at least 1 year experience.
- Experience using GUI functions in MATLAB
- Experience with digital image sensors, image capture and processing
- Knowledge of sensor calibration methods and techniques
- Bilingual - Japanese and English
The ideal candidate will be a strongly motivated hands-on engineer who is willing to learn the details of operation of Canesta’s technology and develop software tools and algorithms for internal use and for deployment to customers for integration into their labs, systems and products.
